In collaboration with Kory Lavine, we have published a new paper in Heart Failure Reviews, "Beyond genomics—technological advances improving the molecular characterization and precision treatment of heart failure" describing how tools from basic science can be harnessed to realize the promise of precision medicine. The article can be found here.
Tommy's paper describing his computational tool, Software for Precise Analysis of Single Molecules (SPASM) is now posted on the BioRxiv. This tool, which can be found here, is build to construct ensemble averages from single molecule trajectories.
https://elifesciences.org/articles/55132 This collaborative project with Greg Bowman's lab examined how different myosin motors are structurally tuned to their biological functions.
In collaboration with our clinical collaborators in Andrew Landstrom's group Duke, we examined the consequences of a variant in troponin T that causes pediatric onset restrictive cardiomyopathy. Sarah Clippinger and Jackie Garcia determined the biophysical mechanism of this mutant. The paper can be found here.
